Welcome.

We are an Addiction Treatment Centre that specialises in Primary Care.

Compass Treatment Centre welcomes you to a whole new chapter of your recovery journey. We often hear people saying that they fear recovery as it’s foreign to them and lacks the adventure and thrill they experienced when in the thrall of drugs and alcohol.  However, once you experience the gifts of recovery, you will never look back. Here at Compass Treatment Centre we will help guide you to receive those gifts and give yourself that chance that you deserve.

At Compass, our aim is to provide a solid recovery community that ensures we value residents and employees and get you the support you need. This solidarity between our team and residents helps promote engagement and deliver a more effective outcome along the recovery journey.

The opposite to addiction is connectedness.

Compass Treatment Centre is located in the coastal town of Sedgefield.  Set in the heart of the Garden Route of South Africa, Compass Treatment Centre takes advantage of the surrounding beauty to aid in the recovery process for those overcoming their addictions. We have created a safe therapeutic environment that provides individual treatment and therapy programs that will assist our residents to reconnect with their minds and bodies.  Through our therapeutic programs, we offer structure and accountability, teaching residents how to live and think independently.

Covid-19.

Compass Treatment Centre is Covid-19 compliant and we observe all social distancing requirements in our treatment programs. All new admissions will undergo an onsite quarantine phase and Covid-19 test prior to commencing their program and joining the therapeutic community. The following measures are in place:

  • Sanitary and social distancing measures and facilities at the entrance and exit to our centre are in place.
  • Signage
  • Screening facilities (thermometer)
  • Attendance record system (in order to document who has been in and out of the premises for record purposes)

The Warrior of Light knows the value of persistence and of courage .

“Often, during combat, he receives blows that he was not expecting. And he realizes that, during war, his enemy is bound to win some of the battles. When this happens, he weeps bitter tears and rests in order to recover his energies a little. But he immediately resumes his battle for his dreams.

The longer he remains away, the more likely he is to feel weak, fearful and intimidated. When a horseman falls off his horse, if he does not remount immediately, he will never have the courage to do so again.” ~ Paulo Coelho

Recovery isn’t just about stopping the Addiction

Many people come into treatment and think, if I could just stop using/drinking/acting out my life would be fine, it would go back to “normal”. Here’s the thing, what’s normal? Is normal that life you had before you started using/drinking?…

Early Recovery Demands

There are a few “suggestions” for people in early recovery. I say suggestions in the same way that it’s a suggestion to pull the cord on a parachute when you jump out of a plane. The first thing to realise is that recovery has to come…
